From the Principal, Mrs. Atta:Announcements: A commitment to create a “Healthy Lifestyle” and support the Health curriculum students have been learning. MS students will have an option on Thursdays only to purchase French Fries. This will give you help to make the appropriate choice and aim for moderation. Snackbar does offer fruits.
Eagles, Job Well Done! - Wow! Congratulations! During Spirit Week, MS students demonstrated outstanding team spirit, talent and collaboration. I am so proud of your persistence and good attitude.
- We have attached the awardees at the BeAttitude Assembly this past Friday (click here to download the list of winners). The awards were the quarterly BeAttitude: Be Thoughtful and the Eagle Keeper Award: 1st Semester. We’ve also attached the competitions (Math Challenge, Spelling Bee and Geography Bee) list of awardees. All students received certificates and Jamba Juice cards. Each award is aligned to a HBA Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs). Each student upon leaving HBA will have achieved the ESLRs (see below). The awards are all part of the Middle School Young Eagle Student Success (YESS) System. A system designed to support the development of healthy independence during this betwixt and between years of young adolescence before entering high school.
ABC BeAttitude
You choose your…Attitude.
You choose your…Behavior.
You reap the results in Celebration or Consequence.
Your Choices build your Character.
At HBA Middle School, we take care of ourselves, each other and this place.
From MS Counselor, Ms. Okazaki:EIGHTH GRADERS: Remember…
COMPLETED registration materials MUST BE SUBMITTED to Ms. Okazaki (or Mrs. Atta)
NO LATER THAN 3 P.M. ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2010. However, we strongly request that all registration materials be turned in by
Wednesday to allow time for Mrs. Silva to approve your math course for next year and for Ms. O to review your folders. There is a fee if the folders are turned in after the deadline.
Please keep all materials attached to the folders intact. Be sure to complete “HBA Registration 2010-2011: Freshman Year,” “Course Projection Plan,” and “PE Athletics Credit” (if you signed up for PE Athletics).
Disregard “HBA Graduation Checklist;” this sheet will be used after the first semester in your ninth grade year.
Thank you!
Mrs. Atta and Ms. Okazaki
