From the MS Principal, Mrs. Atta:Reminders
1. Do not touch or tap ceiling panels. It damages expensive panels.
2. No eating lunch nor snacks on first floor. No one on first floor after-school.
3. Nerf-like balls okay on campus.
4. Undergarments cannot extend beyond the uniform top sleeves or bottom hem.
5. Tech Lab – Printing fee 10 cents a page. Printing fees do not apply when using the lab with a class and the teacher requires printout to be turned in at the end of class.
6. No gum chewing.
Repeated offenses will be considered insubordination. Demerits will double with every offense committed during the school year. See Handbook…demerits impact your Citizenship grade. Deterrents and consequences may also include: Saturday detention; exclusion from FT (in-school suspension); in-school suspension (all assignments/test will count as zero); out-of-school suspension and repeated offenses can lead to dismissal.
Please be mindful, life is made of small choices and your choices are your responsibility.

From Athletic Director, Mr. Oshiro:1. All Students: If you're interested in trying out for a spring sport, please note the flyers posted around campus. The information is also posted on the athletics page of the school website:

2. All Winter Sport Athletes: If your season has finished, please launder, bag and return your school issued uniforms to the athletic office as soon as possible. Consumable items like t-shirts and undergarments are yours to keep. Everything else must be returned.
3. All Students: It's Homecoming Spirit Week! Let's pack the gym this Friday night to support our girls and boys varsity basketball teams and show our school spirit and pride! The girls take on La Pietra at 5:30 PM, followed by the boys against Island Pacific at 7:00 PM. Wear your HBA spirit shirts, athletic t's or anything black and gold and come out and enjoy the fellowship and FREE food courtesy of the HBA Athletic Booster Club. GO EAGLES!!
4. All Students: Congratulations to our boys and girls intermediate tennis teams for winning their respective ILH Division 2 Championships this season! This is the first-ever title for the boys, who finished with a 7-3 record against Division I and 2 teams. Along the way they defeated Iolani for the first time! The girls, who finished 10-2, have won several titles in the past. However, this year they also defeated Punahou...the first time any small school has ever defeated the Buffanblu in girls tennis. Congratulations to all of our intermediate tennis players and coaches!
5. All Students: If you're interested in trying out for a spring sport, please sign up as soon as possible...9th-12th graders in the athletic office, 7th-8th graders with Mrs. Matsushima in the MS principal's office. We need to check that your student health record and athletic handbook agreement form are current and on file. We're also trying to make transportation plans for various sports. Thanks, Mr. Oshiro

pumpkin eating contest sponsored by the HS Student Council, the 7th
graders won the rights to the Roaring 20’s and the 8th graders have the
Age of the Sputnik 50’s.
