…and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2:52
Another focus of the middle school has been the BeAttitudes where we focus on a trait that makes our school the place to be. The students listed below exhibited the following ABC BeAttitude:
Be Thoughtful- Listening without interrupting.
- Behaving appropriately in class.
- Doing something unexpected for someone.
- Thankful for the opportunities that come your way.
- Appreciative for the gifts in time, presents or deeds that I receive.
- Returning what I borrow in good condition.
- Using courteous language.
the ABCs of the YESS System:
ABC BeAttitude
You choose your…Attitude.
You choose your…Behavior.
You reap the results in Celebration or Consequence.
Your Choices build your Character.
Students demonstrated their thoughtfulness by always encouraging people with a warm smile and greeting each morning; making a big pot of hot chocolate for everyone without being asked;
helping with cleaning the class and doing powerpoint during 7th grade worship; self-starters asking for tasks to help with; checked and re-checked the Appreciation package for the veterans an made cards for packages without a card; offering to tutor others during her lunch recess; helps to keep the class on track in homeroom and many other wonderful thoughtful acts. Thank you to each and every one of you for making our middle school a good place to be.
Congratulations to Students who Soared through 1st Semester! The following students kept all of their Eagles within the YESS System by completing their commitments and behaving appropriately throughout the 1st Semester. I call them the “Keeper of Eagle Commitments.” Each awardee will receive a certificate for having “a Servant’s Integrity” These students are people that we can “count on and will do as they say”. They have integrity as they need not be reminded nor checked up on and they still fulfilled their commitments.
Mr. Hom presented the certificates for the 7th Graders; Mrs. Morihara for the 8th graders and Ms. Okazaki gave each awardee a $5 Jamba card to enjoy.
Class of 2014, 7th Graders: 12 7th Graders kept all of their 23 Eagles.
