From the MS Principal, Mrs. Atta: Spirit Week Activities: This week was filled with grade level competitions and activities as part of Spirit Assemblies. As of Thursday the point spread shows, the Seniors in first place and 7th graders a strong second. Our 8th graders are working on building up their points but all is in fun and Thursday’s movie theme had us in stitches. Final scores will come in on Monday. Locker Responsibility: According to page 122 in our handbook, “Lockers must be kept locked at all times. A student will be cited each time his or her locker is reported unlocked, and demerits will be issued as well as other consequences. If a student accumulates three locker citations in one quarter, he or she will not be allowed to use a locker for the remainder of the semester.” Please secure your locker. Some of you have your combination/key lock in a locked position but the locker door still can be opened. To avoid possible lost of personal items and textbooks, we will be completing periodic unannounced locker checks this quarter. If it can be opened you will receive a demerit. Please be sure to secure your lockers and double check that the lock is latched tightly. Thank you! From 7th Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Silva:Ch. 6 STAR Test moved from Monday, 1/26 to Friday, 1/30. From Athletic Director, Mr. Oshiro:- All Fall Sport Athletes: Once your season is completed, please launder, bag and label your school issued uniforms and return to the athletic office.
- All Students: If you're interested in a spring sport, please take note of the try out information posted around campus and online on the athletics page of the school website. Conditioning for some sports is ongoing and tryouts for some sports will begin in the next two weeks. Please come to the athletic office if you have any questions.
- All Students: Just a reminder that the pick up day for the HBA Athletic Booster Club fundraiser is this Saturday, January 31st at the Middle School from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The turkey legs and kalua pork are frozen so plan accordingly. If you would like to volunteer to help distribute, come see me at the athletic office.
- All Students: If you're interested in trying out for golf, there will be a short meeting on Tuesday, January 27th, after school at 2:00 PM outside the athletic office. This meeting is for any interested boys and girls in grades 7-12.
- All Students: If you're interested in trying out for track and field (all levels) or softball (intermediate only), try outs begin next Monday, February 2nd. We don't yet have the site information, but plan to bring your gear and catch the 3:00 PM Roberts Hawaii Bus to your respective try out. Once the sites are confirmed we'll send out the information.
- All Students: If you're interested in checking out FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), we have a meeting today, Monday, January 26th at lunch in the gym. Come out and bring a friend! Thanks, Mr. Oshiro
