From the MS Principal, Mrs. Atta:
Eagles, Job Well Done! Congratulations to Jason Shon!
He has been chosen to go to the Hawaii State Science Fair Competition.- Jason’s project “Comparing Maglev Trains to Steel on Steel Trains”
• Hypothesis – A Maglev train will go farther than a regular train because of reduced friction.
Mr. Hom will be sharing more information with us later about the competition.

UPCOMING EVENTS:This Month’s Challenge: Be ThoughtfulDuring February, turn in to the office a page to describe your experience. Write about ways you practiced the ABC YESS System. Describe the situation. What attitude did you chose and why? Describe your behavior. Did you behave differently than you normally do? Describe the results of your choices. How did it impact your character and/or others around you? Include any other thoughts to help describe your experience.
Remember the ABCs of the YESS System:ABC BeAttitudeYou choose your…
Attitude.
You choose your…
Behavior.
You reap the results in
Celebration or Consequence.
Your Choices build your Character.

From Athletic Director, Mr. Oshiro:1. All Winter Sport Athletes: Once your season is completed, please launder, bag and label your school issued uniforms and return to the athletic office.
2. All Students: If you're interested in a spring sport, please take note of the REVISED try out information posted around campus and online on the athletics page of the school website. Please come to the athletic office if you have any questions.
3. All Students: Just a reminder that there is
no bus transportation for athletics on early release days. Tuesday, February 17th is an early release day with all of you getting out of school around 1:45 PM. Please plan accordingly.
4. All Students Age 16 and Older: The athletic department is looking for a few students to work as ILH scorers and timers for the upcoming spring boys volleyball season. The pay is $10.00 per match. We prefer that you have some previous scorekeeping experience with USAV or ILH volleyball, but it's not necessary. If you're interested and consider yourself responsible, conscientious and reliable, please come see me or Coach Keith in the athletic office.
Thanks, Mr. Oshiro
