Lunch Duty & Clean Up:  Mrs. Morihara, Ms. Lee, 8M

From the MS Principal (Mrs. Atta):
  • All Students:  Were you absent for the Middle School yearbook photo session on Aug. 8th?  The make-up session will be held on Friday, August 29th at the High School Mall Conference Room between 7:15am and 1:00pm.  Please make arrangements with your HR teacher to have your photo taken on this make-up day.
  • Seventh graders:  This Thursday and Friday, August 21 and 22, you will be taking eight multiple-choice tests—verbal reasoning, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing mechanics, writing concepts and skills, quantitative reasoning, and mathematics (part 1 and part 2).  You cannot study for these tests so please do not worry about it.  Get a good night’s sleep on Wednesday and Thursday nights!

Bring (2) no. 2 lead pencils or mechanical pencils with HB leads; a good eraser; a calculator with the four basic functions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing); a free-reading book; and a watch to pace yourself (optional).  You will be able to use the calculator only on part 2 of the mathematics section, which you will take on Thursday; you can still solve the problems without a calculator.  Please do not buy a calculator just for the test!

You will be attending your Flex period after testing.
From the 7th Grade PE Teacher (Mrs. Aguiar)Lunch equipment announcement-Students who would like to use volleyballs and basketballs on the MPC during lunch can get them from the teachers who have lunch duty.  You must exchange your student ID for a ball.

From the NJHS Advisors (Mrs. Tenney & Mrs. Quek):  The NJHS will be holding its first meeting this Thursday at lunch in room 202.  Members, please be prompt.

From the Christian Ministries Office (Mrs. Gruspe):
  • All MS Students:  God has blessed us with so much...right?  There are people living on the Leeward coast in the homeless shelter and they need things like deodorant and toothpaste.  Any donations that you can bring will be greatly appreciated.  Please bring turn in these items to Mr. Lockridge's office by August 20th.  Thank You!
  • 8th Graders:  If you are planning on going to servant group camp, you will need to go to your teachers before camp to see what work you will need to do.
From the Athletic Director (Mr. Oshiro):
  • All Students:  The annual HBA Athletic Booster Club Breakfast is this upcoming Saturday!  Come enjoy FREE breakfast and good fun and fellowship August 23rd here at the HBA cafeteria at 8:30 AM.  There will be a UH athlete here to speak to us and this event is always a great way to kick off the school year.  Come see me at the athletic office if you have any questions.  Thanks.
  • All Students:  If you're playing sports, please remember to check the transportation information DAILY for any changes or adjustments to the schedule.  For 7th-8th graders, your place is on the bulletin board in the MS snack bar or in Mrs. Matsushima's office.  For 9th-12th graders, your place is on the dry erase board outside the athletic office.  Thanks.
