9th-12th Grades:

1.    Student Handbook:  About 10% of our students have not yet turned in their signed "AGREEMENT TO FOLLOW The Hawaii Baptist Academy Student Handbook 2009-2010."  If you are in this group, turn in your forms to the VP's office (across the library) to avoid negative consequences.  {Mr. Namba/Mrs. Hirae}

2.    All 9th-12th Grade Boys:  If you're interested in trying out for the jv and varsity basketball teams this season, please attend a short meeting in the gym this Friday, September 11th at lunch.  Coach Weeks will discuss preseason plans and try outs.  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro

3.    All JV Tennis Players:
  Despite the early release this Tuesday, September 8th, there WILL be bus transportation to the match and practice that day.  Meet outside the athletic office by 3:00 PM.  {Mr. Oshiro}

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:

a.    Fellowship of Christian Athletes. There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting today (Monday) in the gym at 12:30 p.m.  Bring your lunch and bring a friend!  The meeting is open to everyone who loves sports and wants to know Jesus.  {Mr. Namba}
b.    Student Council.  Aloha everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful and restful weekend!  Now, let me grab the attention of all the homeroom representatives.  Remember Reps:  Tomorrow we will have a student council meeting in Mr. Traughber’s room at the start of lunch.  Please keep in mind what committee you would like to join.  The future committees we will have are for Winter Banquet, All-School Homeroom, Spirit Week/Homecoming, Film Festival, and May Day. 1)    There will be a 7th grade camp counselors meeting on Friday, Sept. 11th.  Please also turn
in your completed Grade check form and camp registration form by Friday.
2)    We are still in need of some students who will take initiative and plan this year's “See You
at The Pole.”  Please see Mr. Lockridge if you are interested.
11th-12th GRADES:
Juniors and Seniors of Hawaii’s high schools are invited to attend the 5th Annual Hawaii Future Physician’s Symposium.  The Symposium features several of Hawaii’s foremost physicians who will discuss the joys and challenges of their particular medical specialty.  Several medical students will also talk about getting into medical school and what to expect once accepted.  The Symposium will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Queen’s Medical Center Auditorium.  Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.  Call 735-1935 to register.  The deadline to register is September 11, 2009.  Seating is limited.  {Ms. Marshall}
