9th-12th Grades:
   
1.    9th grade camp counselors, registration forms are due tomorrow and grade checks are due on Friday.

2.    Cafeteria & Snack Bar Workers:  Just a reminder to check your schedule and report to the cafe/snack bar on your assigned days.  If you are unable to work, please make arrangements with one of the substitutes or trade with someone.  Don’t forget to fill out a “Note to Mrs. Lee” form and submit it as soon as possible.  Forms are located next to the hat bin in the cafeteria.  {Mrs. Lee}
 
3.    FROM MR. OSHIRO, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR:
a.    All 7th-11th Grade Girls:  If you're interested in playing intermediate or junior varsity basketball, try outs begin today, Monday, October 19th from 3:00-5:00 PM in the gym.  You need to have a valid Student Health Record (yellow card) and a signed Athletic Handbook Agreement Form submitted in order to participate.  All 10th-11th graders who did NOT play varsity last season are required to turn out for this tryout.  Contact the athletic office if you have any questions. 
b.    All 7th-11th Grade Boys:  If you're interested in playing intermediate or junior varsity basketball, try outs begin next Monday, October 26th from 3:00-5:00 PM in the gym.  You need to have a valid Student Health Record (yellow card) and a signed Athletic Handbook Agreement Form submitted in order to participate.  Keep in mind that there are two intermediate boys teams.  Also, all 10th-11th graders who did NOT play varsity last season are required to turn out for this try out.  Contact the athletic office if you have any questions. 
c.    All Fall Sport Athletes:  If you have a school or program issued uniform, please launder, bag, and return it to the athletic office as soon as possible.  Consumable items like t-shirts are yours to keep.  Contact the athletic office if you have any questions.  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro
d.    All Students Age 16 and Older:  We're looking for responsible, reliable and conscientious students to work as scorers and timers for ILH basketball games this upcoming winter season.  The pay is $10.00 per game and the schedule is flexible.  If you're interested, please see Coach Keith or me in the athletic office as soon as possible.  Experience is preferable but not essential.  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro.

4.    We want your photos in this year's yearbook!  Students, parents, and teachers can contribute to the 2010 Light by uploading photos directly to our website.  It's called eShare-- include photos of field trips, sporting events, school or community activities, or shots of you and your friends.  Go to www.hjeshare.com and enter HBA's school code 2007601.  {Mr. Honzaki}

5.    CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:
a.    Fellowship of Christian Athletes. There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting today (Monday) in the gym at 12:30 pm.  If you play sports or are interested in sports, come with your friends and enjoy the fellowship as we support each other and learn how to grow our faith and be servant leaders.

b.    Servant Group.  Servant Group meeting will be on Friday, Oct. 23 during lunch in the gym.

12th GRADE:

1.    Your Senior Parting Words are due this week.  Please come to Room 300B with your completed parting words statement saved to a flash drive, along with your instruction sheets that were handed to you before break.  No parting words will be accepted without the instruction sheets, and there will be no extensions to this deadline.  If you need another copy of the instructions, please use the master copy in the Learning Center.  {Mr. Honzaki}

2.     Seniors
will be given the option to purchase "deluxe" padded covers for this year's yearbook.  An order form will be distributed through homerooms and must be turned in to Room 300B by Oct. 30.  The cost for the padded cover is $7.50-- make checks payable to HBA.  {Mr. Honzaki}
