9th-12th Grades:

1.    Students:  There are no extended periods this week.  Next week, there will be a schedule change for November 16 and 18.  We will have extended periods A, C, E, and G on Monday, Nov. 16 and a regular 7 period schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 18.  {Mrs. Hirae}

2.    Do you have any good ideas for new courses for HBA that will help our curriculum to be more challenging, coherent and relevant?  We are now considering course ideas for changes in the 2010-11 school year.  A student suggestion from sophomores from the class of 2010 resulted in an Art History elective last year.  Be sure to submit your new course idea to Ms. Ota in room 200 by Tuesday, November 17th so that it can be considered for this year’s Student Interest Course Survey.  Forms are available from the following faculty members {Ms. Ota}:

3.    The 2009 Hawaii Christian College Fair, featuring over 20 Christian Colleges and universities, will be at HBA on Tuesday, November 10 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  There will be food and entertainment from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Please return your RSVP for food today.  Dinner cost is $3.00 or $5.50.  {Ms. Marshall}
 
4.    There will be a college and career fair on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at Neal Blaisdell Center (NBC) Exhibition Hall from 8:30 am - 11:00 am and 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Interested HBA students should plan to attend the evening portion. HBA will not be providing transportation. 5.    On Friday, November 13th the HBA 6th graders will be coming to our campuses.  They will be visiting several C period (HS) classes and taking a tour of both campuses.  Thank you for welcoming them.  {Mrs. Lee}

6.    High School Students:  Winter Banquet tickets will be on sale from Monday, November 16 to Wednesday, November 25.  Each attendee and his/her parents must read and sign the Winter Banquet Guidelines form and turn it in before purchasing tickets.  The form may be accessed at the HBA website:  http://www.hba.net/student_life/high_school. ; Copies will also be available in the Library.  {Mr. Herder}

7.    CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS:
    a.    SERVANT GROUP.  Servant Group Meeting on Friday, Nov. 13th, during lunch in the gym.

    b.    HAWAIIAN CLUB.  Hawaiian Club members:  Waikalua fishpond restoration service project will be this weekend November 14.  If you would like a field-trip form, please see Ms. Chong in Room 106. 

8.    The “GPA Play It Smart” show that aired this past Sunday on OC-16 featured one of our girls’ volleyball players.  The same show will air every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., Thursday at 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays (except November 7th) at 9:30 a.m.  Starting on Sunday Nov. 15th, it will air every Sunday at noon and 8:00 p.m. until December 13. {Mrs. Lee}

11th-12th GRADES:
  A representative from Boise State will be at HBA on Thursday, Nov. 12 during B period. If you are interested please come to the Counseling Office to sign up and pick up a pass.  {Mrs. Goya, Ms. Marshall}

12th GRADE:
1.    Please turn in your senior camp registration form and payment if you are planning on going to camp.  If you are not going to camp, please let your homeroom teacher know.  {Mrs. Gruspe}

2.    Senior Diploma Name Check.   October 30th was the deadline for returning the diploma name check form.  Reminder memos were sent last week to turn in the form no later than this Friday, November 13, 2009.   If I do not receive the diploma name check form from you, the name on your diploma will be the name that was printed on that form.  Mahalo!  {Mrs. Archpru}

3.    Seniors: If you ordered a yearbook cover upgrade or a Senior Class Photo, please make your payment by Nov. 25. Payments should be made by check.  If you are ordering both, please provide separate checks.  It's not too late to order--see Mr. Honzaki ASAP!

4.    Seniors: Sons and Daughters of HBA will be taking a group picture on November 25 at lunch.  Please meet on the grassy slope as quickly as possible (at the start of lunch).  Another reminder: Don't forget to give
