9th-12th GRADES:
1. Attention East Coast Trip Participants: There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. We will be going over trip expectations and itinerary, so don't miss it! You should be receiving a contract in homeroom today. Please complete this form, and bring it to the Thursday night meeting along with photocopies of your State of Hawaii Photo ID/Passport, and Insurance Card. You will also be asked to supply $3.00 for bus/guide gratuity. {Mr. Honzaki}
2. FROM MR. OSHIRO, Athletic Director:a. All Students: If you're interested in trying out for a spring sport, please note the flyers posted around campus. The information is also posted on the athletics page of the school website:

b. All Varsity Athletes: Please come sign up and pick up your varsity jacket from the athletic office if you are either a first-year varsity participant OR did not receive your jacket last year. These are courtesy of the HBA Athletic Booster Club and are approved for wear on campus.
c. All Winter Sport Athletes: If your season has finished, please launder, bag and return your school issued uniforms to the athletic office as soon as possible. Consumable items like t-shirts and undergarments are yours to keep. Everything else must be returned.
3. *Mark your calendars! Our annual Poetry Out Loud competition is coming up on Friday, February 5, at 3:00 in Room C3. Please drop by Room C3 to choose a poem, or visit poetryoutloud.org. *10th & 11th GRADES: Attention Sophomores and Juniors. Do you need extra spending money for the weekend, an iphone, or a car? The After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) at HBA's Elementary campus is looking for energetic, enthusiastic, responsible leaders who are willing to work with K-6 graders 5 days a week. Applicants must be able to provide a letter of reference from their pastor. Pay starts at $7.75/hr. Call Mr. Craig Chang at 533-1106 or email

11th GRADE: 1. Please make sure you have turned in a time away form for camp if you will be arriving late or leaving early. You can pick up a form from Mrs. Gruspe. If you are not planning on going to camp, please report to the library for any closed classes. On the day of camp, please load your items onto the U-haul truck before school starts. {Mrs. Gruspe}
2. All Juniors: If you're participating in winter sports and have a game/match this week on Thursday, Friday or Saturday morning, please be sure to fill out the "time away" camp form and submit it to the Christian Ministries office. Complete what you can, have one of your parents sign it, and leave the travel times as "TBA's". I will coordinate the transportation plan and communicate and confirm that with your coaches and with the Christian Ministries department. {Mr. Oshiro}
12th GRADE: If you are counseling for the junior camp, we will be meeting on Wed., during lunch in Mrs. Gruspe's room. Please make it a point to attend so that we can be well prepared.
