9th-12th Grades:
                                                                                                
1.   A cell phone was found and turned in to the Vice Principal's office on Friday, May 15.  Please see Mrs. Onaga in the Principal's Office if you believe it is your phone.  {Mr. Namba}

2.    FROM Mr. Kaneshiro (Art Dept.):
a.    All Past Basic Art Students:  Last call to claim your paintings and drawings that was displayed in the cafeteria.  Please come by this coming Friday.  If not claimed, I will pass it on to the Development Office to be given away to supporters.
b.    As you do your summer cleaning, please help us recycle and collect the following items for the Art Department.  Thank you so much for your help.
         - Prescription bottles (peel labels for privacy)    - Quart glass jars (wide mouth with or w/o lids)
         - Lancet Containers for Diabetics                          - Newspapers (half sheet tabloid format acceptable)
         - Photo film canisters (please ask for more         - Wire hangers
           at the the place you have your film developed) - Quart plastic containers with or w/o lids
         - Baby jars (glass, not the new plastic ones)        - 100% cotton fabric or remnants
         - Yogurt containers (wide mouth with or w/out lids)
   

3.   Coming this summer...IMPACT.  IMPACT is a summer ministry for Hawaii students with the purpose of having fun and pursuing Christ through friendly competition.  Join with other HBA students as we form our own team.  Come compete or just enjoy watching the fun.  Each IMPACT will have a time of worship and a powerful message.  The competition the first week will be a Battle of the Bands.  HBA is allowed one entry.  Please see me ASAP, if your band is interested in competing. If you want to just come as a spectator, please RSVP with me by June 5th.  Bring your friends...it's going to be a blast.  {Mrs. Gruspe}

4.   *Summer School students who are planning to drive to school and wish to park on campus must apply for a parking permit before Summer School starts.  Permits are available at the Middle School office for a fee of $30, $40, or $60 (depending on the length of your courses).   {Mrs. Yahata, Summer School}

5.   FROM Mr. Oshiro, Athletic Director:
a.    Congratulations to all of the Spring Sport Champions!  The varsity boys volleyball team won ILH and State Division II Championships...the varsity girls tennis team won the ILH Division II Title and finished 3rd overall in the state.
b.    All Spring Sport Athletes:  Please launder and return your school issued uniforms to the athletic office as soon as possible.  Uniforms should be bagged and labeled with your name.  Seniors, remember that this is part of your graduation checklist.  If you fail to turn in your uniforms, you won't be allowed to walk at graduation. 
c.    All Varsity Athletes:  If this is your first year at the varsity level, please pick up your varsity jacket from the athletic office.  Remember that these jackets are courtesy of the HBA Athletic Booster Club. 
d.    All Varsity Athletes:  Remember that the Athletic Banquet is this Saturday, May 30th at the Dole Ballrooms at 10:45 AM.  It should be a great time of fellowship as we recognize all the athletes and teams from this past school year.  See you then! 
e.    All 7th-11th Graders:  If you're interested in playing basketball this summer, please come pick up a summer practice and game schedule from the athletic office.  Everyone is welcome, no experience is necessary.  The schedule is also posted at the school website:  www.hba.net .

6.    *Bowling: Everyone interested in trying out for bowling next year should sign up with Mrs. Hayashi in the library.  Summer practices start after finals in June and continue in July.  {Mr. Hayashi}

9th-11th GRADES: 
FROM Christian Ministries (Mrs. Gruspe):
a.    Servant Group Applications for the upcoming school year are due TOMORROW, May 26th.  This will ensure that you will receive updates from us about any summer ministry projects as well as updates for Servant Group camp.
b.    There will be a free leadership course this summer for those in Servant Group who want to be more involved in leading others next year.  This course will be helpful for those of you who are leading a Bible Study for underclassmen or who are interested in leading one next year.  It will also be helpful for those of you who want to take more leadership in different ministry areas.  Please see Mrs. Gruspe for an application.  This leadership course will be hands-on...no lectures!
c.    Prayer Group:  Did you know that there is a prayer group that meets on Thursdays during lunch in Mrs. Gruspe's room?  Everyone is welcome so come and spend a few minutes connecting with God.

10th-11th GRADES:  AP Students for 2009-10 - Just another reminder - if you pre-ordered your AP textbooks from Barnes & Noble Kahala, don't forget to pick them up at Barnes and Noble Kahala.  If you did not receive a confirmation letter from Barnes & Noble Kahala regarding books you thought you ordered, you might not have pre-ordered your books.  Please see Mrs. Huster if this is you.
