  1. FROM THE REGISTRAR (M. Tanigawa):  2Qtr, SY2008-2009 Honor Roll / Gold Club Lunch & Dessert Coupons.  Be sure to use your lunch and dessert coupons!  The cafeteria will not honor them after Tuesday, January 20th.
  2. FROM THE COUNSELING OFFICE (Mrs. Smith):

    Seniors:
    Forensics and AP Biology students will be going to MSMPS to hear an anthropologist.
    The remainder of the seniors will be in Mr. Traughber’s room working on senior activities.

  3. FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR (Mr. Oshiro):
    1. All Winter Sport Athletes:  If your season is finished, please launder and return your department issued uniforms to the athletic office as soon as possible.  Uniforms should be bagged and labeled with your name.
    2. All Students:  Information on spring sports will be out within the next couple of weeks.  Please be sure to note flyers posted around campus as well as information disseminated by your teachers.  The spring sport information will also be posted on the school website:  www.hba.net  Spring sports that you can participate in are:  boys volleyball, softball, baseball, varsity tennis, golf, track & field, judo and girls water polo.  Come see me in the athletic office if you have questions.
    3. All Students:  Just a reminder to turn in your payments and unsold tickets for the Athletic Booster Club Fundraiser.  You may drop them off at the front office or at the athletic office.
  4. Please use your snack bar coupon by Fri., Jan. 16, 2009.  {Mr. Namba}
  5. To the Participants of Japan Trip 2009: There will be a meeting TODAY, Monday January 12, 2009 at lunch in Room B-209.  Please be prompt.  {Mrs. Tcheou}
  6. Cafe/Snack Bar:  There are a few slots open for volunteers to work in the cafeteria or snack bar during lunch.  Volunteers receive a complimentary lunch on the days they work.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Lee (Admissions Office, C-100) by Thursday, January 15th.
  7. Prayer Meeting in Mrs. Gruspe's room on Thursday, during lunch.
  8. All Students and Faculty:  There will be a recording station set up in room 104 (on the High School campus) this week for the recording of Pepper Squad skits.  The schedule of times is as follows:  Lunch - Tuesday through Friday; after school - from 2:45-3:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 2:45-4:15 on Wednesday.  Only those actively recording should be there.  No food in allowed in the recording room.

  9. *Hey Guys!  Don’t throw away all your old clothes; donate them to IHS.  NHS is having a clothing and toiletries drive for IHS through the 16th.  Drop off will be in the mornings at the bottom of the hill.

9th Grade:  NJHS officers meeting will be in the Admin. Conference Room during break on 1/20.  NJHS general meeting will be held on 1/20 during lunch.  {Mrs. Smith}

9th-11th Grades:  JAM Meeting on Tuesday after school in Mrs. Gruspe's room. 

11th Grade:
  1. Junior Camp:  If you are not planning on going to junior camp, please report to the library for any closed classes that you may have.  On the day of camp, please load your camp gear onto the U-Haul truck before school starts.  {Mrs. Gruspe}
  2. All Juniors:  If you're a winter sport athlete still in season, please check with me right away about transportation plans for athletic events that conflict with any portion of this upcoming weekend's Junior Camp.  Just a reminder, you cannot miss camp to practice...and you cannot miss games for camp (without a release from your coach).  A "time away" form - which can be picked up from Christian Ministries - needs to be completed and signed by your parents.  {Mr. Oshiro}
11th-12th Grades:  *Parking Information.  If you missed receiving a parking application in the mail, please pick up a form from Ms. Darapiza in the front office.  Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The cost is $175 before January 16th, and $200 thereafter.  Please make checks payable to Hawaii Baptist Academy.  Thank you.  {Mr. Namba}

12th Grade:
  1. Senior Homerooms--The junior class is in the process of putting together a slide show for this year’s Jr. Sr. banquet.  Please email your pictures to: jrsrbanquet2009@gmail.com  (all lower case letters) as a JPEG attachment.  Or, you may submit them on a disc and give it to Mr. Yo. 
  2. Servant Group:  For those of you planning on leading a seminar for CEW, I will need your seminar information by tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 13th.  {Mrs. Gruspe}
