9th-12th Grades:
  1.  Please use your citizenship snack bar coupon by Fri., April 24, 2009.  {Mr. Namba}
  2. From the Student Council:                                                                                                                                                 a.    Attention All Students:  The Student Council Film Festival will be held on Friday, May 8th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Come out for a great time, free entertainment and free food!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     b.    If you would like to submit a video for the film festival, please see Mr. Malinger by May 1st for a video review.   3. Okay students, you will want to pay attention to this announcement.  On Thursday night, April 23rd, there will be an evening worship for students.  CEW is done, but we still need to Persevere.  Come to the Middle School MPR for a time of food and worship. This event will start at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.  {Mrs. Gruspe}
  4. To all interested in participating in next years Cross Country team there will be a meeting in Room 408 at the beginning of lunch on Wednesday April 22nd.  Will be doing interest sign-up and handing out information.  If you cannot make the meeting please see Mr. Mukai or Mr. Coryell to get the information.  {Mr. Mukai}
  5. Everyone has read Shakespeare in English class.  To some, this subject may seem as boring  as watching paint dry, but what if there was a way to learn the value of Shakespeare and laugh at the same time?  Tickets are on sale now for this year’s spring comedy "I Hate Shakespeare".  You may purchase them from the cast, the crew, Mrs. Fong, or at the door.  This hilarious play will take place on Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. at the HBA Elementary Auditorium.  Plus, tickets are only $5, a cheap rate for English extra credit and a great family experience!  {Mrs. Fong}
  6. Summer School 2009 - Summer School 2009 registration deadline: May 15.   Check your catalog for courses and registration form.  Catalog is also online at www.hba.net.  {Mrs. Shirley Yahata, Supplemental Programs}
  7. Hawaiian Club:  If you are interested in attending a Hawaiian music fundraiser concert at Aloha Tower market place on May 3rd, please get a field-trip form from Ms. Chong in Room 106 ASAP!  Mahalo- Ms. Chong
  8. From Mr. Oshiro, Athletic Director:
a.    All Students:  Weight Training & Conditioning for football - all levels - started April 13, 2009 and will be ongoing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Mid-Pacific Institute weight room.  A small towel is required.  If you are participating in another school sport you may come out when your season is finished.  Weight training and conditioning is not mandatory, but highly recommended.  If you have any questions, please e-mail Coach Ishii at ishiia003@hawaii.rr.com or contact him at 864-9085. 
b.    All Varsity Athletes:  If this is your first year participating at the varsity level, please come to the athletic office to sign up for your jacket size.  The HBA Athletic Booster Club generously provides jackets for all varsity athletes...one per career. 
c.    All Students:  The spring sports season is winding down, so if you haven't already done so, go out and support your classmates at their various games, matches or meets!  Sports with events remaining are varsity tennis, varsity golf, and various levels of Pac-5 baseball, softball, track and judo.  Schedules are posted around campus, available at the athletic office and viewable on the school website.  GO EAGLES...and GO WOLFPACK! 

9.    *All 9th-12th graders interested in bowling intramurals during the 4th quarter may sign up with Mrs. Hayashi in the library.  {Mr. Hayashi}

9th-11th Grades: 
1.    Servant Group:  Please come to the Christian Ministries office or Room 108 if you need a Servant Group application for the upcoming school year.  If you are currently in Servant Group, you will need to fill out an application for returning Servant Group members.  We will be offering a free leadership course for Servant Group this summer.  Please see Mrs. Gruspe for more information and to sign-up.

2.    9th-11th Grade Boys:  If you're interested in playing HBA summer basketball, sign up this week with Coach Keith or me in the athletic office.  We will be having summer practices and we will have two teams participating in Iolani's summer league.  More information will be forthcoming.  Thanks, Mr. Oshiro
