Intersessions / Holiday Adventures

Intersessions
A modified year-round school calendar allows HBA’s Kindergarten through 6th grade students to develop new skills and expand their interests beyond the regular classroom curriculum during Intersessions.
Elementary students have the opportunity to experience creative and hands-on activities in subject/skill areas including science, language arts, computer, sports and recreation, life skills (cooking, sewing, planting, etc.), and arts and crafts.
Field trip classes take students out daily to exciting adventures including Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park, Bishop Museum, Dave and Buster’s, Koko Crater Equestrian Center, Navatek, Atlantis Sub, Bay View Golf Park, The Duck, Imaginarium, and more.
Academic review classes in language arts and math are also offered to students who have been recommended by their teachers for instructional assistance to upgrade their skills. The week-long, half-day Intersession programs run during the first week of fall and spring breaks from 8–11:40 a.m. at the elementary campus.
Holiday Adventures
The Holiday Adventures program provides quality childcare from 11:40 a.m–5:30 p.m. directly after Intersession courses and from 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. during the second week of the fall and spring breaks. During the winter break, the program is in operation from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
