HBA finished in 6th place overall out of 24 teams participating in the 7th Annual Kauai Challenge Invitational. VolleyballThe tournament was held August 7-9 and was staged in the gyms of Kauai HS, Kapaa HS and Island school. This marked the highest the team has placed in its four years of participation. Nine teams were from California and HBA was the highest finisher among the fifteen teams from Hawaii. HBA lost to Redlands (CA), El Toro (CA) and Valencia (CA), but defeated Waianae HS, Roosevelt HS, Moanalua HS, Mid-Pacific Institute and Rosary HS (CA).

In the prestigious Ann Kang Invitational, a 20-team tournament hosted by Iolani School August 13-16, HBA also enjoyed its best-ever finish. The team won the Silver Division Championship and finished as the second highest placing Hawaii team behind only host Iolani. Over the course of the tourney, the Eagles lost to Harvard Westlake (CA) and Redondo Union (CA), but defeated Iolani Black, Word of Life, and San Marcos (CA), Sacred Hearts Academy (25-12, 22-25), and Punahou School (23-25, 25-17).

The team now heads back to the practice gym to continue preparations for the ILH season with the ultimate goals of defending its ILH and State titles. The volleyball schedules for all five HBA girls volleyball teams will be posted on this site soon. Come out and support all of the teams!
