On the heels of their first ever state championship, the HBA girls varsity volleyball team finished with an overall state ranking of sixth in both the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Honolulu Advertiser final top-10 polls. Each poll is voted on by various coaches and media from around the state.
This marks the highest ranking ever for the HBA girls volleyball team. (The 2003 and 2004 teams were arguably among the top three or four best teams in the state, but there weren't yet newspaper polls or classified state tournaments.)
